Introduction

Hello and welcome to Sleeping Beauties! We are a group of female anesthetists from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Many years ago, our group was formed as a way for female anesthetists in our city to meet and discuss issues that affect us both personally and professionally. There have been many changes to our group over the years, but the one constant has been the support that we strive to provide for each other. We have found that there has been a growing need for tools to improve health care workers' well-being and mental health. With increasing demands and increasing stresses on our daily lives, it is becoming more important that we take the time to take care of ourselves, and each other. This website is one way that we are hoping to do this! We will have posts that deal with the specific issues that we face as female doctors, as well as posts about wellness in general.
